Storm Water Management
To manage storm water runoff, the Hillside Landfill uses sedimentation ponds, silt fences, rock dams, erosion control mats, and other best management practices. Erosion control devices, including storm water ponds, ditches and channels, are inspected to ensure that they serve their intended purpose.
As necessary, sediment is removed and repairs made to the system. The program is implemented and maintained under the Texas Pollution Discharge Elimination System (TPDES) general permit.
